Most engineers steer clear of the systems that can't afford to be wrong. I lean into those.
Ten years in, and I'm still the person people call when payments, patient bookings, or a chatbot's answers absolutely have to hold up under real load. I work mostly in Go, Python, and Node.js — and whatever database happens to be on fire that week. I care less about the trend of the month and more about building things that keep working quietly, long after everyone's stopped thinking about them.
The journey so far
8 roles · 2012 → PresentNow building for an internet provider — a network simulation product for planning rollouts, and the order service its clients place their orders through.
Became the person people turned to for anything touching patient bookings or the hospital's data — a knowledge-base chatbot, HIS and HCLAB integrations, a sales site for check-up packages, dashboards, whatever needed to hold up under real load.
Joined the payment services team to integrate split bills and third-party connections, and reworked the order service to hold up at scale.
Three years deep in payments and order tracing — eventually leading the Payment Service project and the small team shipping it, alongside the Bhinneka Bisnis platform.
Kept DetikEvent and the CNBC Indonesia mobile browser running at newsroom speed, and built the SMS-broadcast and ad-serving engines working quietly behind them.
The first systems I owned end to end — a hotel reservation CMS and an asset management tool, both built from scratch.
Early client work — Teuku Wisnu's official website and an online cake store — learning to ship on someone else's deadline.
